June 19 ~ Jake's on the Lake

Club Host: Kevin & Kathy Hatten

Plan to meet in the Cameron Park Safeway parking lot at 8:30am and depart by 9:00.

We’ll head up Hwy 50 to South Lake Tahoe and continue on Hwy 89 up the West side of the lake to Tahoe City. We’ll plan on making a restroom break available at McDonald’s in South Lake Tahoe on the way.

Lunch at Jakes on the Lake – 780 North Lake Blvd, Tahoe City, CA 530-583-01188. We have several tables on the patio reserved at 11:15-11:30. I am working on the menu and number of attendees at this time; we are limited to 23 cars/46 person max for the group meal (you may be able to join us for the run and eat indoors if we are over the limit).

Following lunch, you have options. I will lead the group on a loop around the east side of the lake (Hwy 28 to Hwy 50) and end up in South Lake Tahoe. If anyone would like to cut it shorter and take the West side of the lake back to South Lake Tahoe and then home or stay the night, that is fine. You can also go up Hwy 89 to Truckee and home on 80 if you wish.

If you wish to spend the night in South Lake Tahoe, please make reservations on your own.

It should be a beautiful day to make a trip around one of the prettiest sights in the world --- great tops down/off cruise!

Please reply back to me with your confirmation that you plan to attend.

I’ll get back to everyone with a list of attendees.

Looking forward to it!!!

July 4 ~ Pointe Palmero

Contact: Kevin & Kathy Hatten

What:  Caravan to Pointe Palmero Senior Living Community
Where: 3081 Ponte Morino Dr, Cameron Park, CA
When:  Sunday, July 4th, meet there at 9:30am

It's a small parade, but is a BIG thing for the seniors who live there. They are going to have a fire truck, some other other cars and students from the local high school. Feel free to dress patriotic, wave your flag or make a homemade sign to wave.

We need to be there this Sunday, July 4th at 9:30 am. We have driven through this community before for our Veterans Caravan, so be sure to drive slowly, honk, rev your engines and say hello. The parade starts at 10 am and we should be done by 10:15-10:20 am. When you arrive, the person at the gate will allow you in. Just drive straight through to the back of the property and you will see a parking lot where people are gathering. Park there and they will give us instructions on what to do next.

July 8 ~ Ol’ Republic Roadhouse Lunch

Contact: Glenn Carlisle

On Thursday July 8,2021, Glenn & Mary Lou, Darrell & LaRee are putting on a run to Nevada City for lunch at The Wheelhouse Restaurant located 5 miles East of Nevada City. It just reopened under new ownership after being closed for 18 months. We made a test run on May 27th to try out the food and it was very good. There is outdoor seating on the patio and under the trees as well as indoor seating. The menu is simple and priced under $15.00 and they have a wide range of drinks.
You do have to place your own orders at the bar and they deliver your order to your table.

We will meet at the Walmart Shopping Center at Hwy 80 and Sierra Collage Blvd. in Rocklin at 10:00 AM and leave no later than 10:15 AM. It is about an hour & half drive and we will take Hwy 80 to Colfax and exit at Hwy 174 and take the back way to Nevada City. There was some road construction on our way but the delay was short.

We will need a head count by June 26th so they can prepare and set up for us. There will be a signup sheet at the June 8th meeting if you are interested.

September 10-12 ~ Laguna Seca

Contact: Glenn Carlisle

Don Herzer and I just talked to the folks at Chevrolet regarding the Corvette Corral at Laguna Seca. To make this short, basically Chevy is planning on doing the same as they did in 2019, such as supplying the tent, tables & chairs, snacks and lunch on race day, TV, Porta potties, 1 or 2 display Corvettes, hopefully Doug and the new race boss, Laura, and depending on Monterey County's rulings, a meet and greet with the drivers.

There will be a parade lap.

All of this is depending on signed contracts, but they are hoping all will go as planned. Get your tickets through the Laguna Seca website.

Hope to see you all there, Sept. 10-12.
- Ken Albers

Note: per Don Herzer there will NOT be a racing banquet.

A call to duty, ALL CAMERON PARK CORVETTE MEMBERS, WE ARE WANTING AS MANY MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE IN A VETERANS DAY PARADE ON NOV 11, 2021 We are proposing to join really half the city and surrounding areas who participate or attend an ANNUAL event in the city of Folsom. Remember this is the 20-year Anniversary of 911 and the theme is RED, WHITE, & BLUE You can decorate you car as little or as much as you want. A couple of American Flags will be just fine! The route is from Home Goods on East Bidwell through some the business district to City Hall where they announce the names of the club and various organizations. It should take about 2-1/2 hours, and the city will provide us with a staging time. We would like to have a red white & blue car lead the procession, with our President Rich in the center in a wing fighter formation.

Please let us now prior to the next meeting or at the meeting with a sign up sheet and the color of your corvette.
